about
classes
at OLLI. Some of the

Class
Schedule. Classes and
other events are offered during eight-week terms in both the spring and
fall, a six-week
summer term, and a four-week winter term. Once enrolled, you may
take as many courses and events as you would like, subject to space
availability. If
you also want to put the dates of future non-class events on your
calendar, here is the long-term schedule
kept by the office.
Catalog Information. The separate
Registration
Form will accept typing while you
are online. Check boxes
can be checked, data
can be entered in the proper fields, numbers
can be entered for dollar amounts, and the entire
registration page form printed.
The cursor that shows where typing will next take place—the vertical line—will be centered
in the blank field, and the
final typed data in
the field will also be centered (except
for fields like email address and dollar amounts)
Closed Summer Term
Courses The list may be
found here after summer registration has completed.

Courses at
OLLI, Loudoun Campus, Summer 2008
OLLI is offering 10 classes at the
Loudoun campus this spring term and four special events. The Loudoun term runs from July 1 through July 24. Class hours at Loudoun are either
10:30 - 12:00 or 1:00 - 2:30. Students may pre register at any time by calling Madeline at the Loudoun office: 703-993-4488 or by attending the Loudoun OLLI Open House on Friday, June 20, at 1:00. The Loudoun site web page is found here and directions to the Loudoun campus may be
found here.
For the first time, Loudoun members may enroll in Reston courses—at a special price. Check the Loudoun summer catalog page 14 (pdf page 15). Reston classes run from June 16 through July 24. The Reston course schedule is in the summer Loudoun catalog on PDF page 14. See the regular OLLI summer catalog for Reston course description, dates, and times.
To view Loudoun course offerings and how to
register, click on the picture of the schedule's cover to call up the
entire catalog in PDF. The registration page, pdf page 16, is a form
into which you may type information and class choices. Then the page
may be printed on your computer and delivered or mailed to the
appropriate registration location. Online web scheduling of Loudoun
classes is not available for this term.

Severe
Weather or
Emergencies . OLLI
will not hold classes or
events, and the Tallwood office will be closed, when Fairfax County
schools are closed for
the day because of inclement weather
or area-wide emergencies. When schools open late, OLLI will open at its
normal time
and classes will meet at their regular times. Tune in to
your TV or
radio
for closing announcements when the weather is bad or emergencies
exist. You can also check the Tallwood answering machine at (703)
503-3384.
Registration
Procedures. Your first choice should be to go to the OLLI on-line
registration system and complete the registration task there. The web
address for the registration system is www.olliatgmu.org. If you don't
wish to register that way you can complete the
registration form from one of the documents on this page, enclose your
check(s) to renew your annual
membership (if applicable) and pay for any courses or special events
(separate checks are required
for each event). Mail the material to OLLI or, starting with the first
day of
registration, deliver
it to the office.
Getting
the Courses
You Want. All
courses and
activities
are limited by available space or other factors. The most important
thing
you can do to improve your chances of getting the courses and
activities
you want is to list them in order of their importance to you on the
Registration Form. If courses are not over-subscribed, you will be
enrolled in the courses you have requested. For the few over-subscribed
courses, registration is filled by priority group (priority ones first,
then priority twos, etc.), and when there are not enough slots,
remaining available slots for that priority group will be filled by
'lottery' using computer-generated numbers. There is no benefit to
being in line early for walk-in registration or to being among the
first to register online.
