David Mason

David has been an active OLLI member since
the Fall of
2005. Since that time he has enjoyed participating in the many
opportunities
for learning and fellowship available through OLLI, and he has even
tried his
hand at being an OLLI instructor. David was privileged to have been a
cast
member in the OLLI play, "Daze of Our Lives," presented as part of
George
Mason’s 2007 First Light Festival.
David
wants to strengthen and grow the "magic" that is OLLI
and its unique and special relationship with George Mason University.
David
is also interested in seeing that OLLI continues that rare and
"magical"
quality that brings people together in a colligate atmosphere, where
life
experiences are valued and easily shared and where personal horizons
are
expanded through new learning experiences. This means building upon
past
successes as the future brings OLLI new opportunities, directions, and
members. David is committed to making OLLI as successful and enjoyable
as
possible.
During
David’s career, he has been a US Army Officer, US
Government Executive, Electric Power Engineer, Information Technology
Executive, Entrepreneur, and College Instructor and is now retired from
the US
Government. David has been a Realtor for 25+ years and continues to
work,
although semi-retired, in that capacity. David has previously lived in
Alabama, Georgia, and seven years in Germany with the US Army.
In
addition to OLLI, David enjoys skiing, shooting, SCUBA
diving, ballroom dancing, the community, his church, and spending time
in England where he and his wife Mo have a second home. David and Mo
have a total of five
grandchildren between them.
David received both a
Masters and a Bachelors Degree in
Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
