you are
interested in learning while traveling, visit Elderhostel, "a
not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary
learning adventures for people 55 and over."

to check out the Arlington
Learning
in Retirement Institute in Arlington, Virginia (also
affiliated with Mason), the Lifetime
Learning Institute of Northern Virginia in Annandale, Virginia
(affiliated with Northern Virginia Community College), and the OLLI at
American University in Washington, DC.

explore

Virginia Senior Olympics, held during two weeks in September each
year, is for seniors like OLLI-Mason members.
Track
and field events are held at a local school with appropriate
facilities,
and other events (including swimming, tennis, pickle ball, racketball,
table
tennis, golf, bowling, archery, horseshoes, chess, duplicate bridge and
many
others) are scheduled at
various locations. For

Internet tips
- Fairfax
County
Public Library: There's no need to buy books! Just visit the
Library's online
catalog and click on the red line: "Login to the catalog and your
account...." Search for a book, place it on hold and specify which
Library branch it should be sent to, all from the convenience of your
home. When your books are ready the Library will send you an
e-mail or phone you. You have three days to pick up your choices and
three weeks to read them. The Library will e-mail you shortly before a
book is due back. If you haven't finished you may renew it online if no
one else has it on hold. Browse bookstores for interesting books
available now; read reviews and ads for books coming soon. Chances are
high that you
can place those books on hold right now at our wonderful Library!
