From the weekly Mason E-Files of Nov 19, 2007:
| Mason Military Outreach (MMO) - Care
Package Drive |
| Mason Military
Outreach (MMO) will be assembling care packages at their monthly
meeting scheduled on Mon, Nov 26, from 12:00 noon - 1:00 in SUB II,
Rooms 1 & 2. You are invited to drop by with donations and/or to
help assemble the care packages. Donations are always welcome;
suggestions include dried fruit, trail mix, granola bars, powdered
drink mixes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, stationery, DVDs, CDs, AA &
AAA batteries, and foot powder. Donations of cash to help with the
shipping costs of $8.95 per package are most appreciated. If you would
like to have an MMO care package sent to a loved one who is serving in
the military, send their name and address to jwalker8@gmu.edu. |
I think this is an excellent outreach effort for OLLI. I plan to attend
the meeting on Monday and discuss at that time how we can help. I
would like to get a volunteer to serve as an OLLI liaison to the Mason
Military Outreach committee. If anyone wants to contribute money for
postage as indicated above, get a check to me before Monday and I will
take it in.
