Just In from the Arctic Circle . . . From OLLI member Debbie Halverson who is visiting Norway, a photograph of the midnight sun at summer solstice . Email is a wonderful thing.

Roe's Eye on Reston . . . Member Al Roe, the OLLI Reston Coordinator, gives his thoughts on our organization and brings us dates and times for upcoming events in Reston. Al is trying to establish a closer relationship between OLLI Reston and OLLI Loudoun members. An item coming up in the next board of directors meeting is to let Loudoun-only members pay an additional fee to visit occasional specially-designated classes at Reston.

Survey Results . . . Executive Director Thom Clement writes about the first look at the results of his survey of OLLI members on the subjects of courses and the registration process. Over 300 members responded to the survey. As might be expected, most of the responders used the on-line registration system. Thom breaks out the numbers here in this week's E-News.

That's General John Johns . . . Here, with photographs, are a couple recent events. General (ret.) John Johns gave a presentation of President Obama's national security direction at OLLI Loudoun this week. Suzy Jampoler took the photo. And from the new members coffee last Friday, Gordon Canyock provides three pictures for a slide show of the occasion. OLLI participants at either of these events might be able to view themselves in Suzy's or Gordon's work.

OLLI-Loudoun Notes is a weekly news email of particular concern to Loudoun members. It is written by OLLI member Suzy Jampoler who took over the job from Ray Beery. Suzy sends the weekly news email on Mondays when class is in session. (And sometimes between sessions.)

OLLI Greater Reston Newsletter is a new weekly news email highlighting the activities of the Reston campus of OLLI. It is written by Sharon Gilman, who has been writing the Eye on Reston paragraphs in the E-News. Sharon is the Communication Coordinator in Reston's volunteer group.

OLLI Calendar is a real-time Google calendar that represents the office's current forecast of all upcoming non-class events.
